On the 23rd March 2025 Tees took 2 crews to Vesta International Masters Head of The River Race on the Thames.
The Masters E 8+ finished the race, however one of the later crews suffered a medical emergency which resulted in the rest of the race being abandoned – with the Tees Masters I quad instructed to stop racing part way through their row.
The Vesta Open Events Committee issued the following statement:
It is with the deepest sadness that the Vesta Open Events Committee confirms that during the VIMHORR 2025 there was an incident in which a member of a Masters E crew required medical attention. The casualty was transferred to hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the crew member unfortunately passed away.
