A little more relaxed
Recreational Rowing at Tees Rowing Club is ideal for people of all ages who wish to row for health, wellbeing and friendship and have the freedom to turn up for rowing without the need to either commit to being in a regular squad or pre-booking a boat.

The Recreational Rowers are an inclusive group of people from a diverse range of backgrounds who share the joy of rowing along the beautiful River Tees.
One or two members of the group have rowed since their school days, but the majority have taken up rowing later in life and some when in retirement. Although some of the group also compete, the focus of the Recreational Rowers is on health, wellbeing and friendship.
There is a strong social element to recreational rowing at Tees Rowing Club, with the ‘after the row’ chat over tea, coffee and refreshments each Tuesday and Thursday morning an essential part of the Recreational Rowing experience.
The Recreational Rowers also arrange other social events as well as exchange visits with other clubs.
