Tees Scratch Regatta

A Great New Social Event

On Sunday 10th August 2025, what started off as a small fundraiser to improve the clubroom, turned into a a full blown club event with over 90 people and a huge total of £630 raised.

The format was for some scratch racing followed by a BBQ. Word spread, people put their names down and even the sun decided to turn up on the day.

There were 4 Eights, 6 coxless quads and 2 coxed quads. The course was the Tees regatta course and each boat rowed it individually to get a preliminary time – just like qualifying in F1.

Then it was game-on with some side by side racing for bragging rights!

After some questionable classifications by the stewards, medals were awarded.

And then on to the fantastic food and BBQ with a chance to sit and chat to new and old friends.

A special mention to Jane Greenaway for leading the organisation but a huge thanks too, to the whole team who organised crews, brought food, cooked, cleaned and all the rest.

It was wonderful to see all the squads come together to support this fun event. Well done Tees! and same again next year we are told….
