Sat 26th and Sun 27th of July 2025 was the date of the St Neots regatta. It is a weekend affair with around 700 crews competing over the two days. It is held in ‘Regatta Park’, which provides plenty of space for visitors, competitors and trailers to co-exist peacefully – something that cannot be said for many other events.
The course was 1k on Saturday (complete with staggered start & significant bend), with a straight run of 500m on Sunday.
There is a large camping area, a huge beer tent, pizza van, bbq, you name it. It was set up for a sociable weekend.
Tees raced 2 doubles and a single on Saturday and a quad on Sunday. The intention was to row a pair and a 4- but those entries were rejected and we swapped to 2x and 4x.
When the first double got to the start line to be told they would be giving a 19sec head start to their opposition, we knew it was going to be a tough weekend!
No wins, which was a shame, but a great weekend all the same. Definitely an event that Tees should consider for the future.

Ian Burns showing that if you’re going to get knocked out, you might as well enjoy yourself!
