Following a recent visit by Emma Benany,  a coach who has successfully coached men’s and women’s crews to World Championships Beach Sprints medals, 10 of our juniors took up the opportunity to attend a practice session at the British Rowing Performance Development Academy which is based out of the South Shields Sailing Club and lead by Emma.

Supported by GB and Canadian Rowers, and Heather from Tynemouth (A Coupe de la Jeunesse Coach); Emma ran a really fun session where the hardy 10 got to practice getting in the boat and there were some very competitive races despite the lumpy water.

Despite the freezing water, there were smiles all around.
