Triple Gold at World Masters 25

Three Tees Crews gets Gold in Spain!

Massive congratulations go to Bob Bainbridge and Paul Rutter, who won a Gold medal for Tees in the Mas H 2x at this year’s World Masters Regatta (10-14 Sept).

But, not satisfied with one gold medal, Bob goes and does it again in the Masters I quad, along with Ralph Pickles, Tony Stocking and John Lund.

They said it was the best row they have ever had in that crew – What an achievement!

Then, thinking that you need 3 to make the set Bob does it again, this time in the Mas H 4x category with Val Von Morgen, Johnnie Cooper and Ralph Pickles (that makes 2 Golds for Ralph as well!)

And to top off an elite level Tees performance, Chris Kenyon won the Octogenarian Active Rower Society Award – nice one Chris!

The World Rowing Masters Regatta is the largest regatta by the World Rowing Federation. Up to 4000 participants from all over the world from the age of 27 row for their clubs over a distance of 1000 meters.

Tees were well represented this year, in addition to the three gold medals there were commendable performances from:

  • The 3 other H doubles
  • The Mas I 8+, who came third
  • The Mas G 8+, who came second to a very strong US crew
  • The Mas H 2x of Paul Buckworth & Tony Stocking, who came a close second
