Key Activities
- Oversee planning system for competitions
- Liaise with Club Committee and Officers for Competitions
- Liaise with Northern Rowing and external bodies for competitions – either directly or via Competition Committee members
- Arrange Competition Committee typically consisting of:
- Regatta Secretary and SBH/LDS Secretary – assumed to be two roles
- Umpire Coordinator
- Club Safety Adviser (or possibly Competition Safety Adviser)
- Club Welfare Adviser (or possibly Competition Welfare Adviser)
- Volunteer Lead
- Catering Lead
- Parking Lead
- Equipment Lead
- Launch Lead
- Buoying Lead (Regatta only)
- Competition Treasurer
- Watersport Centre Manager
- Club Captain
- Maintain role profiles for the above roles
- Maintain Competition planning documents including update with learning from each competition
- Produce Competition Report to the AGM
- Attend Club Committee when relevant to Competitions – typically in the run up and immediately after competitions
Experience Required / Person Specification
- Ideally has worked on the Tees Competition in a Committee role
- Effective methods of communication with Club members
- Is familiar with how a committee should work together
- Has knowledge of British Rowing guidelines and governance
- Good organisational abilities, attention to detail, ability to deal with conflict and handle confidential issues
Time Required
- 2 hours per month to attend the committee meetings (not every month).
- 4 hours per month to lead Competition Committee meetings, update planning documents and communicate with Stakeholders
- Significant commitment in run up to and at Competitions
NB: Times fluctuate depending on cycle of events and support acquired from other committee members.
